The Painted Cubes
So I used to have a problem. When I host a backyard party, I can't be at the grill and at the party at the same time. Socializing while grilling steaks is a great way to spoil a few pounds of aged beef. This app made my life easier. Now, I can put the steaks on my grill, start the timers, grab a beer and socialize for a few minutes. When my phone vibrates, I go back to the grill, flip a steak and come back to socialize some more.Let me know how it works for you.
A handy tea timer. Helps you make perfect green tea. Works with oolongs and pu-erhs, too.Based on the same technology as our popular SimpleSteak app.Install TTime now!
My problem with burgers has been timing the flips. Flip too soon the first time, leave a part of your burger on the grate. Flip too late, burn it. I used my SimpleSteak app to time the flips a few times, and it certainly helped. So I thought - well, I can make it even simpler. All I really need it to do is to ping me every two minutes for twenty minutes or so. Sear a bunch of burgers, move to lower heat, load a new bunch, repeat until done.Comes with our family burger recipe. Install and enjoy!
A simple repeating timer. Slide your finger to set the reminders, touch a button to start. It's that easy.Great for cooking - never let these barbecue ribs go dry again. Works for my favorite citrus-and-onion stuffed duck, too.
May your turkey be all it should be, and then some.
The Painted Cubes hopes you had excellent holidays (we were too busy celebrating ours to post in time) and wishes you a great New Year. May your steaks be grilled just like you want them, your cooking perfectly timed, and your tea exquisitely steeped.
Lots of changes around here. My wife and I are officially empty-nesters: our youngest is off to college. The amount of cooking that doesn’t need to happen any more is truly amazing. That said, the SimpleTimer still helps me to cook fish once in a while – just a lot less of it. The flounder […]
The Painted Cubes opened for business about two years ago. SimpleSteak reached the beta stage by the end of April 2016. That is, I used it for the first time, and it worked. I tested SimpleSteak for a couple weeks, fixed a few bugs, and released it into the wild just before the Memorial Day […]
My son has graduated from high school; that called for a steak or three. I used my obsolete Samsung tablet to run SimpleSteak this time..
Happy holidays and a great New Year! May your steaks be just right, and the tea properly steeped.
The original title of this post was “Grilling times!”. It was supposed to be a Labor Day post – happy grilling, be sure to use SimpleSteak. Between the hurricanes and all, that just didn’t seem a good idea. Consider donating to hurricane recovery efforts next time you grill something…
My wife and I are excited to spend this Memorial Day weekend with our two kids, one visiting from out of town. With my son preparing to go off to college soon and my daughter planning a wedding and about to expand her family, I know these sweet opportunities to sit together like this will […]
SimpleTimer at work. The steaks turned out well!
