The Painted Cubes, LLC was incorporated back in 2016. I just had a (very civilized) divorce with a major corporation; I wanted to spend some time doing something completely different. I used an Android phone at the time, excellent Android tooling was available from Google for free, so I decided to try writing an Android app.

I like my steak rare; I thought I’d write a timer to help me grill steaks just right. Hence the SimpleSteak. I then added a SimpleBurger (yes, I like my burgers juicy and slightly pink inside) and a SimpleTimer, because I cook other stuff, too.

Then the corporate world sucked me back in, and I spent a few years being paid for doing some pretty cool stuff. I kept updating my timers, though. Then there was Covid, I changed jobs and changed jobs again.. and here we are.

The timers are up-to-date; I do follow the Google guidelines for making them safe and current. I still use them.

Enjoy and watch this space. I might have time for new stuff.. eventually. Once I retire or something.
